Position Overview:

The Contract Attorney will play a pivotal role in supporting PJM Interconnection's mission by focusing on regulatory compliance and legal matters related to energy operations. This position involves collaboration with senior legal professionals to ensure effective regulatory communication and strategic filings with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal analysis and recommendations on matters affecting PJM's operations and compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate litigation and administrative proceedings at various levels of government.
  • Draft, edit, and electronically file legal documents, including tariff submissions and regulatory pleadings.
  • Oversee the work of external legal counsel in the preparation of PJM-related filings and proceedings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to formulate PJM's legal strategies in regulatory contexts.
  • Offer legal guidance to various departments regarding PJM's core business functions.
  • Contribute to the development of organizational policies and legal frameworks.
  • Facilitate the review and response process for discovery requests.
  • Represent PJM in regulatory hearings and meetings, ensuring robust legal advocacy.
  • Monitor and report on regulatory developments that may impact PJM's interests.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.
