In addition to cardiac services, UF Health Leesburg Hospital excels in orthopedic surgery, stroke management, emergency care, and maternity services.

Role of the Certified Respiratory Therapist
The Certified Respiratory Therapist operates under the guidance of the Director/Manager, employing respiratory therapy protocols in accordance with the American Association of Respiratory Care Guidelines, as well as adhering to the Statement of Ethics and
Professional Conduct:
This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to facilitate patient care, conducting respiratory assessments, and implementing, delivering, and evaluating the respiratory therapy requirements of patients.
Qualifications
Educational Background:
- High School Diploma/GED with additional college, business, or technical training
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Florida Certification as a Respiratory Therapist
- BLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- NRP Certification
- ACLS Certification
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Respiratory staff assigned to maternal-child services must possess NRP and PALS certification. If not obtained prior to employment, these certifications must be achieved within 90 days.
