Position Overview

The Inova Loudoun Surgery Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) services. This is a Full-Time position with a daytime schedule, ensuring a work-life balance without night, weekend, or holiday shifts.

About Our Facility:

Inova Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center is a premier outpatient facility that offers a wide range of cost-effective surgical services utilizing advanced technology in a supportive and compassionate environment.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts
  • Daytime hours only, with no requirements for nights, weekends, on-call, or holiday work
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia
  • Monitor and document vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
  • Support patients as they regain consciousness; may involve gentle restraint if necessary
  • Assess surgical sites for any signs of excessive bleeding or swelling
  • Educate patients on post-operative care and wound management
  • Cross-train to assist in the Preoperative area as needed

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of nursing experience in PACU or Critical Care within an ambulatory surgery environment or acute care hospital
  • Prior experience in Preoperative and Postoperative care in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is highly preferred
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN is preferred
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • ACLS/PALS certification is preferred within six months of hire
