Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure personal safety at all times while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in every aspect of the role.
  • Capable of entering and exiting the vehicle by navigating two steps with grab bars.
  • Ability to operate the truck's steering wheel (power steering), shifter, and various levers and knobs essential for the truck and equipment operation.
  • Drive the ready mix concrete truck to construction sites, adhering to safety regulations and following dispatch instructions.
  • Maintain communication with the dispatcher regarding deliveries, verify delivery tickets for specific instructions, and complete as required.
  • Regularly climb an 8-12 foot ladder to ensure materials are loaded safely and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Safely handle 50-pound mixer chutes and dispose of slurry according to established procedures.
  • Collect payments from customers and document transactions on receipts.
  • Inform customers about new products or services and address service complaints effectively.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding basic product knowledge and concrete usage.
  • Monitor various gauges during vehicle operation.
  • Maintain operator logs, forms, and records in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations.
  • Complete written reports on issues or required repairs and communicate them to maintenance personnel. Identify and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to the supervisor.
  • Keep the work area and vehicle clean and organized.
  • Ensure product quality to the best of the driver's ability before leaving plants and during transit to job sites.
  • Maintain a clean mixer truck, both inside and out, to ensure safety and operational excellence by washing the truck to remove excess concrete throughout the day.
Additional Requirements
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License, Class B or higher.
  • Hold a current DOT physical card.
  • Exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor towards co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the public at all times.
  • Arrive at the assigned job site prepared to commence work at the designated start time.
  • Adhere strictly to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. Safety Manual.
  • Follow all Pennsy Supply, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Willingness to collaborate in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with additional tasks as assigned.
