Job Summary:

As a key member of the Compass Group USA team, the Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality food service experience for patients, employees, and staff at our Acute Care Hospital or Medical Center.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the Food and Nutrition services department, operating within the approved budget, and providing maximum value for dollars spent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with patients, the Client, and other departments within the Hospital.
  • Assist in fostering strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the food-service department with the facility plan of operations.
  • Promote the professional growth and development of team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A.A. Degree or related experience preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager certificate or Registered Dietitian preferred.
  • Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  • Supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills to include various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • ServSafe Certified.
