Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Community Response Unit as a Security Aide. In this role, you will work directly with the Hickory Police Department, providing support and assistance in maintaining the safety and security of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct security checks of assigned areas, including City parks and trail systems, the Downtown Social District, and the Hickory City Walks.
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot, by bicycle, or in a motor vehicle to ensure the safety and security of citizens, personnel, and property.
  • Maintain radio communications with the Hickory Police Department Communications Center and file all necessary reports as required.
  • Conduct traffic crash investigations throughout the city and follow guidelines defined under NCGS 160A-499.6.
  • Generate electronic reports via computer and communicate with the general public in a face-to-face setting.
Requirements
  • Must have a valid Class C driver's license.
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony and must undergo a thorough background investigation.
  • Must be able to work part-time duty hours that may vary as scheduled.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
