We are seeking a skilled Mechanic II to join our team at Wilkes-Barre Hospital Company. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for performing and assisting in maintenance and repair programs, including preventative maintenance and repairs to tools, machines, electrical/mechanical devices, electrical distribution, HVAC, motors, generators, and refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and assist in performing maintenance and repair programs, including preventative maintenance and repairs to tools, machines, electrical/mechanical devices, electrical distribution, HVAC, motors, generators, and refrigeration systems.
- Report directly to the Supervisor of Engineering.
- Develop and implement maintenance and repair programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operation and minimize downtime.
- Two to three years of formal concentrated study (associate degree or equivalent plus one year of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc.)
- Technical expertise, manual dexterity, mechanical ability
- Ability to react to crises and emergency situations, sound judgment/independent thinking
- Comprehend blueprints
- Work initiative, accuracy of material and supply orders, creativity to make temporary repairs and fabrication of parts when necessary
- A valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
