Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Real Property Agent to join our team at the State of Tennessee. As a Real Property Agent, you will be responsible for performing professional real property appraisal and negotiation work of considerable difficulty, as well as performing related work as required.

Responsibilities
  1. Creates real property acquisition documents for government.
  2. Prepares deed and lease contracts for real property utilized by government.
  3. Appraises real property to be acquired, disposed of, transferred, or leased by Government.
  4. Participates in evaluation of real property, including right of way, acquisition, disposal, leasing, easements, etc.
  5. Prepares technical reports pertaining to the status and funds of real property.
  6. Participates in negotiations for the acquisition, disposal, or leasing of real property.
  7. Interprets government maps for real property inspections.
  8. Routes real property acquisition documents for government through established processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A bachelor's degree in real estate or other related field.
  2. Experience equivalent to three years of full-time increasingly responsible real property transactions, including appraisal, negotiation, title due diligence, closing, or other related field.
  3. Valid TN Driver's License.
Competencies

We are looking for candidates with strong decision-making, time management, and functional/technical competency skills. Additionally, you should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and real estate laws.

Tools & Equipment

You will have access to a computer, telephone, measuring wheel, electronic tape measure, calculator, and government vehicle.

Driver Standards

State of Tennessee positions that may involve driving responsibilities require candidates to meet the following minimum driver qualifications:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • For the past five years, the candidate's driver record must not have record of the following violations: driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, more than 4 moving violations.
