We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Account Representative to join our team at Optum. Key Responsibilities- Collect patient responsibility for hospital visits, ensuring accurate and timely billing information
- Apply thorough knowledge of collections and billing processes to resolve patient account discrepancies and issues
- Identify problem accounts and review accounts for potential issues, making recommendations to management as needed
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve patient responsibility at the point of service
- Sort and file correspondence, maintaining accurate and organized records
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year of customer service experience, with a focus on collections or billing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM and 11:30 PM EST, with a Saturday or Sunday shift
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
