Position Overview

The Recreation Advisor plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Recreation team to deliver a comprehensive and varied recreation program for students. This position promotes health and wellness by overseeing recreation activities as per the approved schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all integrity guidelines and procedures, ensuring the accuracy of student data.
  • Assist in supervising a diverse and comprehensive recreation program.
  • Coordinate recreation activities with the Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPP) and Social Development, including evening programming.
  • Collaborate with local community resources to enhance recreation and leadership activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and maintain safe practices within the program.
  • Document student participation and accountability during recreation activities.
  • Manage inventory of equipment and materials, recommending purchases and performing necessary repairs.
  • Oversee the organization and condition of recreation department facilities.
  • May supervise the student recreation aide program.
  • Deliver quality work and assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain personal attendance, accountability, and productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Apply job knowledge effectively to fulfill all required responsibilities.
  • Continuously develop skills necessary for job performance.
  • Mentor and model the Career Success Standards as outlined by the PRH.
  • Provide effective supervision and management for the student population, positively influencing student behavior.
  • Offer timely operational support to ensure quality programs and services.
  • Communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, contributing meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions before taking action.
  • Collaborate with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services for students.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director or designated management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's Degree or one year of relevant experience working with youth preferred.
  • Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet company insurability requirements; a CDL is preferred.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching, with the ability to lift 40 pounds or assess the need for assistance.
