LPN Job Description

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care services. As a key contributor to our urgent care center, you will work closely with our providers and medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, recording vital signs and medical history as needed.
  • Assist in determining medical problems, initiating and maintaining IV lines, and administering medications as directed by our providers.
  • Collaborate with our medical team to examine and treat patients, administer injections, remove sutures, and apply dressings and splints.
  • Authorize medication refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies as needed.
  • Collect and analyze laboratory specimens, log results, and perform lab call-backs.
  • Prepare and maintain exam/treatment rooms, selecting and setting up medical supplies and equipment.
  • Document patient care and procedures using electronic medical records.
  • Schedule patients for tests and follow-up appointments.
  • Instruct patients and family members on treatment and medication instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by our healthcare team.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current LPN license and BLS certification required.
  • A minimum of one to three years of relevant experience preferred.
