Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Support Technician to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our patients, providers, and laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and register patient specimens for testing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Order and manage laboratory tests, including verifying medical necessity and coding documentation.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless specimen processing and test ordering.
  • Perform manual charge entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to resolve specimen processing issues and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • 1 year of work experience in laboratory registration, order entry, and specimen processing.
  • Proficiency in computer data entry functions and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain OSHA Bio-Hazard Certification.
