Job Title: Laboratory Phlebotomist

Tennessee Oncology, a leading cancer care specialist, is seeking a skilled Laboratory Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Laboratory Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in the collection of patient specimens for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect patient specimens for laboratory testing, adhering to proper guidelines for safe handling of blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Record lab testing, quality control, and assurance activities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Manage inventory levels of reagents and supplies, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.
  • Identify and report any issues that may affect test performance or reporting of test results, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from laboratory performance specifications.
Requirements:
  • Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant with 2 years of clinical lab experience preferred.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma required.
Physical Requirements:

The Laboratory Phlebotomist will be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. The ability to reach, stretch, and climb stairs is also necessary.
