Intake LPN Position

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Float between NYCBS locations as needed to provide patient care and support.
- Follow all New York Cancer and Blood Specialists policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Update and maintain electronic patient records, transitioning hard copy records to digital format as needed.
- Record patient information, including vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history prior to each appointment.
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments to ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
- Work in the front office, answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility.
- Assist in maintaining medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
- Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint to ensure accurate patient information.
- Provide patient education on medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets.
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens as needed.
- Perform basic lab tests, including EKGs.
- Administer and document medication under a physician's order, following the five medication rights to reduce the potential for medical error.
- Current NYS LPN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Previous experience in a lead role or demonstrated potential to act in a lead capacity.
- Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in OncoEMR.
- Ability to travel to any NYCBS location.
We offer a competitive salary up to $36 per hour based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition reimbursement, health insurance on day one of employment, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, 401k plan, generous PTO time, and eight paid holidays (two floating).
