Overview

Trilon Group, a leader in engineering solutions, is on the lookout for a dedicated Hydraulic Systems Engineer.

The selected candidate will offer essential technical expertise to municipal authorities and engage in diverse projects that encompass the adaptation to evolving federal, state, and local regulations affecting public drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater management; as well as the creation and execution of regional initiatives to meet compliance and permitting standards associated with these utilities.

Your Key Responsibilities will include
  • Expertise in design regulations, operational challenges, and management of public drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
  • Developing assessment techniques including GIS analysis; gathering and interpreting complex data; and preparing detailed regulatory technical reports on water resource management issues.
  • Providing guidance and technical support on water resource planning and regulatory matters to local, state, and other public agency officials.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Understanding of the structure and responsibilities of public utilities, public works, and planning departments within local governments.
  • Ability to prepare and present technical documentation and convey complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to gather pertinent information for addressing less clearly defined practical challenges.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS, including map development and familiarity with spatial analysis and analytical extensions. Experience with ArcHydro is preferred.
  • Background in water and wastewater treatment facility design, hydraulic modeling, and pump system design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
Education & Experience
  • Preferred candidates will hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant design and operational experience.
  • Experience in local government is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation, permitting, and construction processes is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer registration is desired or must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Certification as a Class IV Wastewater Operator is highly desirable, though other classifications will be considered.
  • Experience with CityWorks is highly desirable.
