Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating radiology equipment and performing radiographic examinations to provide high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging and Patient Care
    • Position patients and radiologic equipment to capture accurate and clear images.
    • Practice safe radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
    • Instruct patients on procedures and proper breathing techniques to ensure high-quality images.
  • Image Review and Quality Control
    • Review images to ensure they are diagnostic and ready for radiologist interpretation.
    • Evaluate anatomical views, image quality, and completeness of studies to ensure accurate information is presented.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Operations
    • Maintain operational level of equipment and accessories, calibrating and cleaning as needed.
    • Report broken or malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with multiple departments to satisfy routine and provisional requests.
    • Communicate pertinent data to nursing units and patient transport departments.
Requirements
  • 1 year previous x-ray experience in a surgical environment, preferred.
  • ARRT - Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required.
  • Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - State of Illinois IEMA (IEMA) Required.
  • AHA Heartsaver CPR - American Heart Association (AHA) Required.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license Required.
