Our dynamic and successful Traffic Operations Group is looking for a full-time Junior Transportation Engineer to join our collaborative Traffic Engineering team, working on exciting projects for various governmental entities.

As a Junior Transportation Engineer, your responsibilities will include the planning, operation, and management of advanced transportation systems, such as urban corridors, highways, and public transit.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct evaluations for intersection control and prepare traffic signal/roundabout justification reports
• Collect traffic data and perform field observations
• Execute technical analyses using traffic simulation and modeling software
• Develop concepts and conduct alternatives analysis
• Optimize corridor signal timing and operations
• Evaluate multimodal transportation safety
• Model travel demand and perform dynamic traffic assignments

• Analyze large datasets for transportation analytics and assess various performance measures
• Create Transportation Management Plans (TMPs), manage assets, and conduct benefit-cost analyses (BCA)
• Implement connected vehicle signal applications
• Prepare documentation to support analytical work and transportation studies

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous
• Up to four years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in technical writing
• Excellent interpersonal and public communication abilities
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Passion for emerging transportation technologies and trends, including multimodal transportation (car, pedestrian, bicycle, and transit)
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record

Desired Qualifications:
• Proficiency in various software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets, as well as traffic engineering software (e.g., Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, VISUM, RODEL, HCS) is a plus.
