About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team at Alliant Engineering, Inc. As a key member of our Highway Design group, you will play a critical role in delivering transportation projects of varying scope and complexity throughout Minnesota and nationally.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design roadway geometry, compute design calculations, and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
  • Lead a team of graduate engineers and technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Resolve design issues with proactive and innovative solutions, ensuring high-quality work that meets client expectations.
  • Engage in professional development activities to grow your client network and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Assist with the preparation of work scopes, budgets, and schedules for transportation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering field).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • 4+ years of highway design experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical expertise using Microstation/Geopak and Open Roads Designer on transportation projects.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work on schedule.
  • Skillful in presenting technical concepts to clients and the public in understandable terms.
  • Experience supervising, leading, teaching, and mentoring project staff.
  • History of establishing and fostering strong client relationships.
  • Experience writing proposals.
  • Alternative Delivery experience.
