About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Design group at Alliant Engineering, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing transportation systems that meet the needs of our clients and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop transportation systems, including roadways, intersections, and pedestrian facilities, to ensure safety, mobility, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate transportation design with other engineering disciplines, such as drainage and traffic engineering.
  • Prepare and lead the production of complete plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) packages for successful project delivery.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and constructability.
  • Supervise and lead project teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of projects.
  • Develop and mentor junior staff to enhance their technical capabilities and drive for excellence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
  • At least 4 years of experience in transportation design, with a strong background in roadway design, intersection design, and pedestrian facilities.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and project teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering principles and practices, including MnDOT State Aid Standards.
