Position Overview:
The American Society of Plumbing Engineers is in search of outstanding candidates for full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track Associate Teaching Faculty positions. These roles are focused on the development and instruction of the essential pre-clerkship medical curriculum across various disciplines, including:

  • Pathology
  • Pharmacology
  • Physiology

  • Cell Biology and Histology
  • Molecular Chemistry/Biochemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Immunology
  • Neuroscience
  • Gross Anatomy
  • Biostatistics & Epidemiology

Key Responsibilities:
As an Associate Teaching Faculty member, you will be responsible for supervising graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate learning assistants, as well as collaborating with fellow faculty to enhance and innovate course materials.

This position emphasizes teaching (80%) and service (20%), allowing for engagement in university service roles that align with the position's responsibilities, fostering collaboration with faculty and staff within the educational institution.

Position Details:
The roles are full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track, and renewable on an academic year basis, contingent upon satisfactory performance and institutional needs.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a PhD or terminal degree in one of the specified disciplines or a closely related field by the time of appointment. A solid background in teaching healthcare-related subjects, particularly in core pre-clerkship topics, is essential.

Experience in curriculum development and innovative instructional methodologies, including the integration of technology to enhance teaching practices, is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2-3 years of experience in teaching healthcare-related subjects, with expertise in one or more of the core pre-clerkship topics mentioned above.

A strong dedication to education that aligns with the mission and objectives of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers is desired. Previous experience as a course leader or in an engineering capacity is advantageous.

Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring teaching assistants and instructional lab coordinators, along with evidence of collaborative efforts with faculty and staff, is also preferred.

Engagement in the higher education community and participation in professional development activities, such as teaching certificate programs, publishing educational and scientific works, and presenting at academic conferences, is encouraged.
