About the Role

Copa Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Medical Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of medical services under the general supervision of a Behavioral Health Medical Professional (BHMP)
  • Perform vital signs monitoring, venipuncture for diagnostic purposes, and collection of body fluid samples from patients
  • Update patient demographic and outside treatment information, schedule diagnostic tests, and make telephonic appointment reminder calls to patients
  • Assist in the collection of treatment-related and treatment-relevant information, such as CSPMP and pharmacy refill requests
  • Work in conjunction with RNs to provide oversight in the day-to-day performance of routine activities
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • A minimum of a high school diploma/GED, an Associate Degree preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification or completion of an approved MA training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or a medical assisting program accredited by any accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
  • One year of behavioral health work experience, preferred
  • Valid AZ State driver's license, vehicle with State minimum car insurance, and ability to meet Copa driving guidelines
  • CPR certification, required
  • Must complete training and demonstrate competence in Integrated Care skills
  • Must have demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • Satisfactory work records as determined by the People 1st
  • Successfully completes a pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and any other required background checks
  • Ability to meet Copa's driver authorized driving requirements, set forth by Copa Health's insurance company
