Job Summary

The Housing Authority of Shreveport seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Deputy HCV Director. This key leadership role is responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the HCV Program, ensuring compliance with HUD guidelines and regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to program participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the HCV department, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
  • Provide ongoing assistance to support a positive and productive working environment, planning, prioritizing, and assigning work as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD guidelines and regulations, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are properly trained to complete their duties.
  • Assist staff in the interpretation of federal regulations and the Administrative Plan, writing and reviewing processes and procedures to ensure program compliance.
  • Delegate tasks as appropriate and develop reports to monitor completion of tasks.
  • Perform quality control reviews on tenant files and monitor processing of services and documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in HUD Programs (HCV Program) or low-income housing with increasing responsibility in a senior supervisory capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of varying social, cultural, economic, professional, and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and supervise the work of others, to delegate responsibility and authority, and to hold subordinates accountable for tasks assigned.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse economic population and maintain punctuality and attendance as scheduled.
