Overview:


The primary objective of this position is to mitigate risks associated with the organization's systems, networks, and sensitive data by assessing, monitoring, and enforcing cybersecurity measures.

This role encompasses the oversight of security applications and alerts, responding to cybersecurity incidents, validating threats, and generating reports, as well as coordinating and communicating incidents and threats. Additionally, participation in the development of cyber analysis initiatives is expected.


Responsibilities:
The core responsibilities of the Senior Information Security Analyst include:


Acting as the initial line of defense by managing security alerts and issues; analyzing log files, network traffic, and IDS/IPS alerts to evaluate, prioritize, and distinguish between potential security threats and false positives.

Maintaining and operating a SIEM/log analysis solution, which includes data collection, aggregation, and regular exception reporting.


Analyzing and/or initiating the appropriate escalation of security threats identified internally or through managed security service providers to mitigate potential risks and vulnerabilities.

Engaging in the management of select third-party service providers.

Participating in the incident response team, which involves launching and tracking security incident investigations to resolution.

Monitoring and disseminating security notifications in accordance with established notification and information-sharing protocols.

Assisting in the formulation and distribution of Information Security Metrics and Event Reports.

Managing the PKI certificate lifecycle – issuing new certificates, revoking/retiring, and troubleshooting certificate-related issues.

Performing other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned by the security team.

Qualifications:
Experience / Education / Certifications

A Bachelor's degree is preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.


A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, including two (2) years of hands-on experience in security operations and incident response.


Possession of at least one industry-recognized certification such as Security+, or others like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), etc.

Skills

Proficiency with various operating systems, networking, and cloud solutions (Azure & AWS).

Hands-on experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint security, log management, and content filtering.

Experience with log aggregation, event correlation, and enterprise security analysis tools.


Expertise in threat analysis and response management, including direct command of incidents, prioritization of findings, evidence collection, development of remediation strategies, and evaluation of those strategies.

Experience in directing and developing solutions to enhance efficiencies while enabling other teams to maintain security.

Experience in automating data feeds, synchronization processes, and other repetitive maintenance tasks.

Ability to utilize systems and data to create business cases and provide actionable plans to improve security posture.

Experience in configuring Information Security monitoring systems to ensure logging, monitoring, and actionable alerting such as SIEM; IDS/IPS; Database Activity Monitoring.

A customer-focused mindset, demonstrating skill in managing expectations, providing proactive updates, and delivering high-quality work products.

Experience managing projects throughout the complete system development lifecycle.

Proficiency in multiple languages is preferred, with fluency in English (written and spoken) required.

Willingness to travel as necessary, up to 15% overnight travel.
