Position Overview:

Join General Dynamics Information Technology as a Senior Cybersecurity Operations Analyst. In this pivotal role, you will transform technology into opportunities, ensuring the safety of today while paving the way for a smarter tomorrow. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting various critical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monitoring and correlation of security events within a structured Security Operations Center.
  • Utilize CND analyst toolsets to effectively detect and respond to IT security incidents, implementing standardized procedures for incident response.
  • Conduct thorough research on threats and their behaviors, including monitoring external CSIRTS/CERTs.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for threat mitigation.
  • Communicate effectively through web, email, and telephonic channels to manage security incident response procedures.
  • Perform routine event reporting and analysis over time.
  • Possess hands-on experience in security or network technology (Unix/Windows OS, Cisco/Juniper Routing-Switching).
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of TCP-IP protocol implementations and capability in network packet analysis and anomaly detection.
  • Hold professional certifications within a CND discipline, meeting Technical Level III standards as defined by DOD 8570.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Required Skills:
  • Collaborate across teams and with external customer groups to develop strategies and design solutions.
  • Manage escalations effectively, providing assessments and recommendations to resolve issues.
  • Draft and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and knowledge articles.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI
  • Required Certifications:
  • DoD M IAT Level III/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification is required prior to contract support.
  • IAT III 8570/8140 Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Additional Information:
  • Candidates must be willing to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions.
  • Position may involve physical activities such as lifting IT hardware and reaching/bending for cable connections.
  • Travel may be necessary to support mission objectives.
