Job Summary

J & K Communications, Inc. is seeking an experienced Two-Way Radio Systems Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting two-way radio systems, including base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain two-way radio systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair radio equipment, using advanced diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of radio equipment, identifying potential problems before they occur.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to coordinate project installations and deployments, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Install and remove electronic equipment, such as radio interoperability gateways and external speakers, as required.
  • Assist in the design and specification of dispatch and remote communications installations, ensuring they meet customer needs and industry standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency call-outs, providing critical support to customers and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, providing clear and concise information and updates.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in land mobile radio systems, including conventional analog, digital, NXDN trunking systems, P25, and IP-based systems.
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, FCIA, NABER, or equivalent industry certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license.
