Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications in a fast-paced pharmaceutical warehouse setting.

Responsibilities
  • Fulfill medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health-system.
  • Staff for a minimum of one full weekend (Saturday & Sunday) per month.
  • Coordinate shipments to customers utilizing multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensure compliance with temperature requirements.
  • Document pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems.
  • Respond to and triage requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
  • Utilize automated dispensing technology and related computer software to fulfill customer orders.
  • Receive, restock, and rotate inventory, and complete expiration date management.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance inspection and documentation of medication storage areas.
Requirements
  • Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
  • CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
Work Environment

This is a per diem position with a variable work schedule. The successful candidate will be required to stand for extended periods and lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
