Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to fill the role of Staff Development Coordinator. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for coordinating staff development programs, providing orientation to new employees, and conducting training sessions on various topics such as blood-borne pathogens and hazard communication standards.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Description:

  • Coordinate staff development programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.
  • Provide orientation to new employees, including nurses and nurse aides, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job duties effectively.
  • Conduct training sessions on various topics, such as blood-borne pathogens, hazard communication standards, and CPR certification.
  • Act as the primary instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program, ensuring that all instructors meet the necessary qualifications and adhere to program guidelines.
  • Post workshops, hospital in-service classes, and continuing education opportunities to encourage attendance and participation among staff members.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in reviewing incident reports to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to prevent similar incidents in the future.
  • Work collaboratively with other nursing management team members to ensure seamless execution of staff development initiatives.
  • Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure work assignments are completed timely and accurately.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Five years of experience in a long-term care setting, or nursing education experience.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients, genuine interest in geriatric nursing, and strong leadership skills.
