Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Staff Development Coordinator (RN License Required) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing education and experience in staff development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Staff Development Program: Design and implement training programs for nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Act as Personnel Health Nurse: Provide medical guidance and support to employees, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Orientate New Employees: Develop and deliver comprehensive orientation programs for new hires, aligning with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Training Sessions: Deliver training on blood-borne pathogens, hazard communication standards, and other essential topics to ensure compliance and employee safety.
  • Nurse Aide Training Program: Serve as the primary instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program, approved by DFS, as needed.
  • In-service Training: Coordinate and schedule in-house in-service training sessions for all staff, promoting attendance and participation.
  • Emergency Response: Work as charge nurse or supervisor during nursing emergencies, ensuring prompt and effective response.
  • Incident Reports: Assist the Nursing Management Team in reviewing incident reports, identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License: Current, valid RN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Nursing Experience: Five years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting or nursing education background.
  • Geriatric Nursing: Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients with a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
  • CPR Certification: Maintain yearly CPR certification.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise nursing staff, ensuring timely completion of work assignments.
