Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Operations Manager will lead payments processes specific to international and domestic wire transfers, automated clearing house (ACH) transactions, and emerging real time payments. This leadership role is responsible for managing payment operations, risk management and processing strategies for the bank.

This position requires strategic leadership, oversight, risk management and monitoring, resource allocation, and training related to payments. The successful candidate will develop risk management strategies and ensure payments services are reliable, secure, and provide exceptional customer experience without compromising risk.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a small operations team of 2 to 4 people, overseeing day-to-day activities and providing guidance as needed.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with payments processing.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of payments-related projects.
  5. Provide thought leadership and strategic recommendations to senior management on payments-related matters.
  6. Oversee certification and audit activities for the operations department, ensuring compliance with established bank policies and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Possess in-depth knowledge of wire transfer processes, systems, risks, and controls.
  2. Have experience with risk assessment and implementation of mitigating controls to manage operational risk.
  3. Be proficient in payments automation, payments fraud monitoring systems and processes, and account and GL reconciliation.
  4. Hold advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and bank accounting policies and procedures.
  5. Hold AAP and CTP certifications or have commensurate experience.
  6. Possess excellent organizational skills, project management skills, time management skills, and leadership skills.
  7. Be able to analyze, review, recommend, and initiate corrective actions, process improvements, and vendor solutions.
