Rebecca School is a developmental institution that employs the DIRFloortime approach, a relationship-centered educational model established by Dr. Stanley Greenspan.

We are excited to announce the opening of a new location and are in search of Head Teachers to engage with students aged 3 to 21 who experience neurodevelopmental challenges in relating, communicating, and cognitive processing.

Role Overview
As a Head Teacher, you will have the opportunity to design your own classroom curriculum while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to foster the social, emotional, and academic development of our students.

Rebecca School North represents an expansion of our successful program, which has been dedicated to supporting students with neurodevelopmental delays for many years.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $53,000 and $75,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement classroom curricula tailored to individual developmental needs and interests of students.
- Adapt educational materials to accommodate diverse learning profiles.
- Plan and deliver lessons that adhere to Developmentally Appropriate Practice Guidelines, with weekly discussions with the Educational Supervisor.
- Conduct educational assessments to evaluate students' functional levels across five developmental domains.
- Create treatment plans and objectives aimed at enhancing students' learning capabilities.
- Provide comprehensive written assessments detailing students' needs and proposed strategies.
- Organize and maintain a classroom environment that promotes independent access and clean-up.
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and professional development sessions.
- Mentor and assess Teaching Assistants annually.
- Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- Ensure a safe learning environment for all students.

Qualifications
- A Master's Degree or nearing completion of a Master's program in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid NY State Certification.
- Familiarity with the DIRFloortime method or willingness to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
