  • Product Formulation: Develop and reformulate existing products to meet customer specifications and requirements.

  • Shelf-Life Stability Testing: Design and coordinate testing activities to ensure product stability and quality.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth theoretical expertise in one or more technical core competency areas, recommending and initiating projects within existing programs.
  • Raw Material Evaluation: Check raw ingredients for maturity or stability for processing and finished products for safety, quality, and nutritional value.
  • Quality Assurance: Evaluate food processing and storage operations and assist in the development of quality assurance programs.
  • Research and Development: Study methods to improve aspects of foods, such as chemical composition, flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, and convenience.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on new regulations and current events regarding food science by reviewing scientific literature.
  • Product Testing: Test new products for flavor, texture, color, nutritional content, and adherence to government and industry standards.
  • Process Improvement: Develop new or improved ways of preserving, processing, packaging, storing, and delivering foods, using knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, and other sciences.
  • Collaboration: Confer with process engineers, plant operators, flavor experts, and packaging and marketing specialists to resolve problems in product development.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of lab work, documentation of ingredients, and provide statistical evaluations and reports.
  • Product Commercialization: Participate in planning, monitoring, and documentation of product trials leading to successful commercialization of new products.
  • Quality Control: Provide detailed QC program of existing and new products.
  • Training and Documentation: Participate in HACCP and SQF training and documentation.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Food Science and Technology or related field.
  • Experience: Equivalent working experience in Formulations / Testing / Food Science field.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and lab and processing equipment.
