Position Responsibilities
The role involves providing administrative and receptionist support for departmental staff and the general public. The position requires interaction with middle and high-level management. Employees in this role will independently handle assignments, while unusual issues will be escalated to supervisors or lead workers.
Key Responsibilities:
The essential responsibilities for the Administrative Support Specialist I include:
- Answering phone calls, assessing requests, responding to inquiries, and directing messages.
- Creating requisitions, blanket purchase orders, and entering receipts into the system.
- Entering and retrieving data using computer systems.
- Performing additional job-related tasks as assigned.
- Preparing and distributing correspondence.
- Processing receipts and invoices for payment.
- Receiving, sorting, opening, evaluating contents, and distributing mail.
- Executing other job responsibilities as assigned.
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license required for driving a state vehicle.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is necessary.
