POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is integral in supporting the preparation of weekly production reports, managing finished goods inventories, and facilitating transfers between facilities. The Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager on various tasks, including month-end closing procedures, reporting, physical inventory assessments, payroll audits, and asset evaluations. This position plays a crucial role in partnering with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities through detailed reporting and analysis. Additionally, the analyst will assist in the formulation of operational and capital budgets and contribute to the establishment of internal control protocols in line with generally accepted accounting principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in generating reports that encapsulate business activities, operational expenditures, and variances, including weekly forecasts.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of all hourly roles and facilitate cross-training for absences such as vacations and sick leave.
  • Support the annual budget preparation process.
  • Prepare necessary reports for specific profit centers.
  • Conduct daily analysis of raw material receipts to verify accuracy.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure precision in reporting.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline is essential.

CORE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in production accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude for examining and validating financial documents and reports.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems, as well as proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Understanding of supervisory principles, training methodologies, and performance assessment.
  • Knowledge of contemporary office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Awareness of regulations governing financial record maintenance.
  • Comprehension of payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, and cost accounting processes.
  • Familiarity with accounting and auditing principles and practices.
