Medical Scheduler

Job Summary
Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a skilled Medical Scheduler to join our team. As a Medical Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating the schedules of our medical professionals, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Site Management to ensure that schedules are met and excess compensation is minimized.
- Communicate regularly with clinicians to understand their needs and preferences.
- Develop strong relationships with clinicians to persuade and influence them to take on additional shifts.
- Network with clinicians to obtain referrals and assist in filling shifts.
- Analyze situations and negotiate with clinicians to obtain commitments to fill shifts on an emergency basis.
- Escalate excess clinician compensation requests to management for approval.
- Establish strong relationships with internal and external team members.
- Follow up with new providers to ensure completion of their required orientation.
- Problem solve with scheduling team members to brainstorm issues and establish best practices.
- Enter schedules into the company database and distribute as necessary.
- Reconcile and track work hours for all clinicians and submit information to payroll for processing.
- Provide various reports to management as requested.
- Review timecards for errors and omissions prior to payroll processing.
- Efficiently utilize the computerized scheduling system.
- Participate in and lead the annual vacation selection process for assigned provider groups.
- Complete assigned schedules and assist in completion of other team schedules and tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
- Three years of previous medical-related clerical experience or an associate's degree.
- Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilization of computer applications.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
