Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Burn ICU team. As a Registered Nurse in our Burn ICU, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and provide individualized care to those in need. You will be responsible for assessing patient condition, administering medications, and conducting complete patient evaluations before procedures.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Conduct complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments. Ensure patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtain and witness consent form.
- Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensure patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalate care concerns appropriately.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse.
- Registered Nurse Diploma.
