Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our Food Services team at Central Maine Medical Center. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold food items for our patients, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food to order, following recipes and food safety guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, and dishwashers.
- Wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment, and follow all CMH, patient, and regulatory rules and procedures.
- Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training, and comply with all CMH and HACCP policies and procedures.
- Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner, and comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures preferred.
