We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in the CT and Vascular Surgery department. This is a per diem position.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care in the physician office setting. This role requires outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The Medical Assistant will practice in accordance with Central Maine Medical Center's Clinical Policies and Procedures and operate within the American Association of Medical Assistants guidelines.

This role promotes teamwork with staff, physicians, and personnel in other departments, and supports the values of Central Maine Medical Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in the practice.
  • Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
  • Communicates with Clinical Coordinator, Team Leader, and/or Practice Manager about changes in patients status, and results of diagnostic studies.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program required.
  • Must have one (1) the following credentials OR be eligible to obtain 1 (one) of the following credentials, based upon the credentialing organization's eligibility requirements, within 90 days of hire:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) American Medical Technologists
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) National Health Career Association
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) The American Registry of Medical Assistants
  • Current Association Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience with PC and Electronic Medical Records preferred.
