Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our Obstetrics team at Central Maine Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will assist surgeons in invasive and non-invasive procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities- Assist surgeons in surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring they are properly sterilized and stored.
- Collaborate with other surgical team members to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives and maintain a safe environment for patients, colleagues, and self.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment, as well as surgeon preferences.
- Verify informed consent, site of surgery, and patient ID with the surgeon and RN.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay current with industry developments.
- Graduate of an accredited school for Surgical Technologists.
- Required certification for surgical technologist with one (1) year of hire to job.
- Required maintaining approved national certification through completion of CEU requirements or testing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
