Patient Account Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Account Representative to join our team at Guidehouse. As a Patient Account Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our revenue cycle processes.
Key Responsibilities- Resolve account balances with third-party payers and guarantors via payer websites or phone calls.
- Work all correspondence within 24 hours of receipt, documenting notes in the client's system.
- Address denials, taking necessary actions to obtain account resolution.
- Submit appeals for non-clinical denials as appropriate.
- Monitor denials for trends and issues, reporting findings to supervisor.
- Bill or re-bill claims as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal rules and regulations, including HIPAA.
- Complete assigned special projects within given timeframes.
- Attend training sessions and seminars offered by the client and third-party payers.
- Accurately document each account worked in the client's practice management system.
- Make necessary corrections in the client's practice management system.
- Resolve or forward address and/or plan changes to maintain insurance master integrity.
- Update patient accounts with corrected demographic or insurance information.
- Post adjustments based on standard operating procedures or leadership direction.
- Handle customer calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-year experience in office, customer service, or healthcare field preferred.
