About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Account Representative to join our team at Guidehouse. As a Patient Account Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing processes, working closely with other departments to achieve our goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contact third-party payers and guarantors to resolve account balances on assigned accounts
  • Work all correspondence within 24 hours of receipt, detailing notes in the client's system
  • Monitor denials for trends and issues, reporting findings to supervisor
  • Submit appeals for non-clinical denials, ensuring timely resolution
  • Bill or re-bill claims as necessary, adhering to state and federal regulations
  • Complete assigned special projects within given timeframes, attending training sessions and seminars as required
  • Document each account worked in the client's practice management system, making necessary corrections
  • Resolve or forward address and plan changes to maintain insurance master integrity
  • Post adjustments based on standard operating procedures or leadership direction
  • Handle customer calls in a professional and courteous manner, utilizing desktop applications as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-year experience in office, customer service, or healthcare field preferred
