Job Overview

At Biscuits Doggie Daycare, we prioritize the safety, health, and joy of the dogs entrusted to our care. Our mission is to elevate pet care standards within our community. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team of skilled Pet Care Technicians. This role is ideal for someone who possesses a genuine passion for dogs and their owners. While prior professional experience in animal care is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Our approach is rooted in kindness, respect, and humane handling techniques, and we expect the same from our new team member.

About Us

Biscuits Doggie Daycare is proud to offer the only enrichment-based daycare program in the region. Our owner is the first and only CPACO (Certified Professional Animal Care Owner) in Washington State, and our Facility Director is one of only two CPACPs (Certified Professional Animal Care Providers) in the state. Additionally, our Facility Director is a certified dog trainer through CATCH Canine Trainers Academy and a certified pet first aid & CPR instructor through PetTech. Our management team, along with most of our Pet Care Team, is Fear Free certified, ensuring a compassionate environment for all pets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the health, safety, and happiness of the dogs in our care is the top priority at all times.
  • Make decisions that are in the best interest of each individual dog.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with fellow team members.
  • Engage in ongoing education through courses and certifications.
  • Create safe and successful playgroups for dogs.
  • Conduct thorough health assessments on dogs.
  • Lead and interact with groups of up to 15 dogs of various breeds and sizes.
  • Implement light training techniques to reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Set up and facilitate enrichment activities.
  • Manage dog interactions to prevent altercations, following established guidelines.
  • Build relationships with dog owners and provide updates on their pets.
  • Maintain knowledge of each dog's specific needs, including allergies and medical conditions.
  • Prepare and serve meals, including medications and supplements.
  • Monitor and document dogs' health and behavior.
  • Communicate any important information or emergencies to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the facility.
  • Follow protocols for safely bringing dogs in and out of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Dependability and reliability are essential.
  • Patience and a calm demeanor are required.
  • A passion for providing exceptional pet care is crucial.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Previous experience in dog handling is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of dog behavior and training techniques is a plus.
