We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Washington Emergency Care Physicians. As a Trauma and Acute Care Specialist, you will provide comprehensive care to patients in collaboration with attending physicians.
Key Responsibilities- Provide autonomous patient care, including procedures such as intubation, ventilatory management, and central venous catheter placement.
- First assist with a wide range of surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted operations.
- Assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute care surgical patients, including those requiring emergency surgical intervention.
- Coordinate and participate in patient rounds, providing updates on patient status, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients admitted to the ICU, PCU, and med/surg floors.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, case managers, and other allied health professionals to facilitate efficient patient flow and transitions of care.
- Participate in trauma and acute care surgery quality improvement initiatives, including M&M reviews.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system.
