Position Overview:

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in managing the patient experience at our clinic. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the seamless flow of patients through the front office, ensuring that each individual receives exceptional service and timely care.

Compensation: The starting hourly wage for this role is $17.50.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients promptly upon their arrival, demonstrating outstanding customer service.
  • Efficiently complete the check-in process for patients as they arrive.
  • Review and update patient information, including demographics, income, insurance, and sliding fee scale as necessary.
  • Coordinate with financial counselors to screen patients when applicable.
  • Manage patient flow through the check-in process and oversee daily appointment schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with back office staff and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, adapting to changes in daily routines or assignments.
  • Monitor wait times in the reception area and inform patients and clinical staff of any delays.
  • Handle late arrivals and no-show appointments according to established policies.
  • Collect co-payments and accurately reconcile daily cash transactions.
  • Oversee the complete check-out process for patient visits, including collecting fee tickets and entering charges.
  • Act as a cashier, processing payments and setting up payment plans as per policy.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as required.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience in a physician's office or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical billing is preferred.

Certificates/Licenses: None required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with databases.
  • Understanding of electronic medical records and practice management systems.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
