Veteran Affairs Hospitalist Position Available

The physician will be tasked with evaluating and managing both new and returning patients presenting with a variety of medical conditions (such as hypertension, diabetes, ischemic heart disease, COPD, depression, and chronic pain).
Care may be provided through in-person consultations, telehealth, or video visits, though occasional travel to various medical centers or Community Based Outreach Clinics (CBOC) may be necessary.Responsibilities include ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, medications, and other treatments as clinically indicated, addressing preventative health maintenance needs, and completing all required VA documentation, including clinical reminders and screenings, in a timely manner.
The physician's assigned duty station will be one of the facilities within the VA Northern California Health Care System.
Responsibilities encompass the evaluation, including the performance of history and physical examinations; diagnosis; consultation; and treatment of adult patients with medical conditions in a clinical setting, via telehealth, or through VA-approved video modalities, with appropriate support and monitoring.
Additionally, the provider may conduct diagnostic or therapeutic joint aspirations/injections, soft tissue injections, routine women's health examinations (including pelvic exams, breast exams, cytologic pap smear testing, and cervical HPV testing), laceration repairs, foreign body removals, abscess incision and drainage, diagnostic paracentesis, and wound debridement.
Care may be delivered through face-to-face consultations, telemedicine, or VA-approved video modalities, with preliminary interpretation of ECG and radiographic studies, while also supervising residents, fellows, and other trainees.
This position is not remote.Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
