Vacuum Design Engineer II Position

Anderson Dahlen is a leading provider of metal fabrication and equipment integration services to various industries. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's innovative solutions.
About the Role- Analyze customer requirements to design components, chambers, and systems for the vacuum market segment.
- Understand and/or perform design calculations to ensure vacuum chamber and weldments meet functional requirements.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and cooperate with operations, sourcing, quality, and project management to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Creates designs, specifications, models, bills of material, and manufacturing drawings.
- Coordinates efforts with production to ensure design meets manufacturability capabilities.
- Ensures product or structure will be safe, dependable, cost-effective, and meet customer or regulatory requirements.
- Builds prototypes for testing and approval.
- Reviews customer models and drawings for missing or incorrect information.
- Creates solid models or updates models provided by customers.
- Modifies existing designs or products to improve performance or integrate new technology.
- Performs engineering calculations to size components and process equipment.
- Interacts with customers during the quotation phase to understand requirements.
- Works closely with the quality assurance team to define a quality/inspection plan.
- Provides optimum cooperation and complete information to Project Manager.
- Works with production supervisors and shop personnel to improve designs through effective communication.
- Keeps up to date with research and development in manufacturing technology.
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism and encourages excellence through example.
- BS Engineering degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Machine Design, Process Design, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment related to vacuum equipment or vacuum processing.
- AAS degree in relevant field with 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience with ultrahigh vacuum product design and manufacturing required.
- Experience with 3D CAD, GD&T principles, and project management.
- Knowledge of ASME calculations and FEA preferred.
- The company fosters a manufacturing type environment.
- This position will primarily involve operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.
