Regular visits to clients' farms are part of the role to discuss insurance options. You will collaborate with team members and provide your insurance expertise across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively market insurance solutions and expertise by establishing connections with clients, prospects, and influencers to drive new business and referrals.
- Foster client relationships through regular interactions and strategic sales calls.
- Provide "value-added" insurance services tailored to client needs.
- Maintain organized prospect files, develop ongoing prospecting strategies, and achieve sales targets for Compeer's insurance division.
- Work towards meeting the team's objectives for new business growth within the assigned market.
- Complete necessary documentation, including applications, production reports, acreage reports, and claims for clients.
- Review coverage options with clients throughout the year to ensure proper claim reporting.
- Oversee claims to ensure timely resolution for clients and Approved Insurance Providers.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the crop insurance products offered by Compeer Financial and relevant eligibility regulations.
- Stay updated on product specifics and program modifications.
- Serve as an agricultural business resource for clients, enhancing industry knowledge in areas such as soil management, fertilizers, seed varieties, farm technology, and animal husbandry relevant to the local region.
- Effectively communicate risk management strategies achievable through our products to fulfill client requirements.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience requirements vary based on the position's size, scope, and complexity; experience in agribusiness or a closely related field is essential.
- Preferred: Current state insurance license for selling crop insurance.
- General understanding of crop insurance programs, grain marketing, finance, and macroeconomics.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Compeer's insurance products and services, as well as credit operations.
- Understanding of farm production methods and farm business management.
- Knowledge of finance, macroeconomics, and competitive products and services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective negotiation and sales skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office Suite and relevant accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong client service and interpersonal skills for effective communication with internal and external clients.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for clear information exchange with peers, clients, and leadership.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the organization's brand.
