Certified Outpatient Medical Coder

PSN Affiliates is seeking a skilled Certified Outpatient Medical Coder to join our team. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for translating healthcare providers' diagnostic and procedural phrases into coded form. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will ensure accurate coding and compliance with established coding systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze provider documentation to assign accurate ICD-10 Diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS Codes, and ICD-10 PCS Codes.
- Evaluate calculated DRG for accuracy and assist billing staff in establishing medical necessity of charges, claims, and clearinghouse edits.
- Provide feedback to clinical staff on coding issues and review denials.
- Train providers on coding errors and corrections, and obtain necessary clarification of information on notes and charts by physician query.
- Prepare weekly trending reports by provider for COO or designated administrator on coding errors, coding changes, missing information from charts, etc.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT-/HCPCS universal coding systems, and DRG systems.
- Efficient, organized, and able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office/Windows, with knowledge of medical terminology and billing procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong analytical and communication skills.
