Position Overview:

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a dedicated CT Technologist to deliver high-quality computed tomography imaging in accordance with established standards and practices.

  • Evaluate patient history and physician orders.
  • Provide patient education regarding procedures and equipment to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications as required.
  • Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond to any changes appropriately.
  • Set up equipment and necessary supplies.
  • Implement safety protocols and conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment.
  • Diagnose and report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Position patients accurately and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze imaging results and address any quality issues, including repositioning patients as needed.
  • Document and communicate scan results effectively.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical capability to move and lift patients and equipment, with a weight capacity of up to 50 pounds.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and during irregular hours.
  • Awareness of potential exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids, requiring adherence to safety precautions.

Required Certifications:

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; advanced certification in Computed Tomography is preferred.
  • Current AHA BLS certification is mandatory.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in Diagnostic Radiology is preferred, with prior CT experience being advantageous.
