Job Summary

The AL/GL Claims Specialist plays a critical role in the risk management team, responsible for investigating and settling in-house claims, as well as overseeing Third-Party Administrator Claims. This position requires formulating and executing claim investigation and settlement strategies, ensuring that subcontractors and third parties are held accountable for alleged injuries.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage self-administered Auto and GL claims, utilizing internal and external resources to develop claim strategies and resolve claims effectively.
  • Coordinate with Third-Party Administrator and branches to investigate and resolve TPA handled claims.
  • Develop and manage claims through well-structured action plans, ensuring timely and appropriate resolutions.
  • Analyze first reports and promptly contact relevant resources.
  • Evaluate claim facts to provide accurate and timely investigation and loss analysis on all claims.
  • Negotiate claim settlements up to designated authority level.
  • Utilize internal and external systems for document gathering and claims management.
  • Recognize and identify potential fraudulent claims.
  • Support workload surges and communicate with all parties involved in claims.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to statutory and regulatory fair claims practices.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Risk Management team's goals, objectives, and results.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of general and auto liability claims adjusting experience.
  • Current Claims Adjuster licenses in one or more states preferred.
  • Knowledge of claims management and risk management principles.
  • Experienced adjuster with claim investigation, valuation, and settlement negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge of insurance, contracts, laws, and policies related to claims management.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in teams and multitask.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to network and collaborate with claims/insurance industry and commercial operations.
Work Environment

This role operates in a hybrid office environment, requiring in-person work three days per week.
