Job Title: Core & Vocational Services Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Core & Vocational Services Supervisor to join our team at the Mental Health Association in Orange County. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing support to our Vocational and CORE (Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment) Services programs, supervising direct support staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Vocational and CORE Services programs, including job development, job coaching, and vocational assistance.
  • Supervise direct support staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure the delivery of excellent services.
  • Collaborate with the CORE Clinician and Assistant Director of Social Programs to ensure the integration of Vocational and CORE Services with other Social Programs.
  • Oversee and facilitate Vocational and CORE groups at Hudson House, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for participants.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders to promote employment opportunities and support services for participants.
  • Provide individual psychoeducation and skill-building to assist participants in developing personal autonomy, including stress management, symptom management, and leisure activities.
  • Teach pre-vocational concepts, such as work compliance, attendance, and task completion, to support job attainment and retention.
  • Organize and maintain all CORE/Vocational program information and volunteer files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Support participants in establishing positive health routines and practices, including meal planning, healthy shopping, and grooming.
  • Complete monthly billing and data collection, ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports.
  • Maintain all client records electronically through Foothold Technology and Electronic Record Keeping, adhering to program policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain linkage with community agencies and service providers, promoting collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Participate in team meetings and other tasks as assigned, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or currently matriculated student pursuing a degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field OR Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field AND a minimum of two years' experience providing services to individuals with serious mental illness or substance use disorder in direct care positions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, with flexibility to work varied shifts and schedules.
  • Experience providing employment support, education support, or vocational assistance, with knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed practices.
  • Experience navigating Electronic Health Records, with proficiency in Foothold Technology and Electronic Record Keeping.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
